Our Purpose

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered
by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

  • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
  • to support the mission of the church worldwide,
  • to work for justice and peace, and
  • to build an inclusive, caring community of women
that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and
witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

About Us . . .

The Presbyterian Women of Mt Washington Church meet
monthly in small groups, or Circles, of about twenty. The
three Circles meet in the Church’s Beran Parlor at different
times to accommodate a variety of schedules, including those
of working women and mothers of young children. A year-long
Bible study is a part of the agenda for each circle.

Bi-monthly, members from all Circles meet together for
Gatherings. Throughout the year, the Gatherings offer
programs to support our missions, justice and peace,
and spiritual development.

To fund our missions, a rummage sale is held each May,
and the Artisans’ Affair is held in November. The money
raised from these events, and from our monthly contributions,
as well as donations of goods and services throughout the
year, are distributed locally, nationally, and globally.

All women members of the church are members of
Presbyterian Women. There are many opportunities to
serve by donating time and talent to the many activities
and projects sponsored by Presbyterian Women. If you
are interested in joining a circle and/or joining some of
the many activities of PW, please contact our Membership
Chairman, Sally McIlveen.
