Rev. Dr. L. P. Jones – Pastor, Head of Staff L. P. Jones enjoys worship and nearly every type of music.
He tries to take at least one walk daily with his wife, Nancy,
and their dog and is always eager to brag about his
adult children. He considers the church a place where all are
welcome and where we serve others even more energetically
than we share our varied opinions. L. P. received a B.A. in
history from the University of Kentucky, an M.Div. from Lexington
Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in religion from Vanderbilt
University. In addition to serving with congregations in Kentucky,
Mississippi, and Michigan, he has taught preaching and directed
doctoral studies. L. P. is the primary worship leader of our
congregation and oversees our program and lay staff. Brian Mitchell – Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries Brian is a native of Scotland, and has lived in Ohio since 1996.
Brian earned his BA in Theology from Glasgow Bible College.
As Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries, he works closely
with the Youth Christian Education Committee and the pillars of
that committee to provide programming and events to help
youth and young adults grow in their faith and find their place
in their Church. Kandy Stone – Director of Children’s Ministry Kandy earned her B.S. from the University of Tennessee.
As Director of Children's Ministry, her responsibilities include
Sunday Church School, Super Wednesday, Vacation Bible School
and activities and programming for infants through sixth graders.
Kandy also serves as staff liason for the Preschool Committee,
the Library Committee and media resources.
Barbara Wolf – Presbyterian Preschool Director Barb is a graduate of Marietta College and has been the director
of Presbyterian Preschool since its start in 1991. She oversees
the operation of the preschool including curriculum and staff
development. She and her preschool staff offer a quality
developmentally appropriate preschool program. Barb’s job also
involves her as a colleague in ministry with the church staff. Jan Ellis – Interim Administrative Assistant Jan is a graduate of Marshall University and a former teacher at
Presbyterian Preschool. She returned this year as the Interim
Administrative Assistant whose job includes purchasing and
record keeping. Gail Kiley – Program Consultant Gail earned her M.Ed. in counseling from the University
of Cincinnati. As Program Consultant, Gail serves as staff
liaison for Adult Education offerings and to the Membership
and Evangelism Committee of Session. She also teaches
new member classes. Gail is on call for members with
counseling needs and makes hospital visits. In addition,
Gail directs our four handbell choirs. Larry Brandenburg – Interim Director of Music Larry earned his Master’s of Church Music degree from
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.
As Interim Director of Music Ministries, Larry directs the
Chancel Choir, Sacre Voce, and Celebration Choirs.
He oversees the music program of the church,
including children’s and handbell choirs, and
their directors. Larry works through the Worship
and Music Committee of Session. Kim Heindel – Organist Kim has performed around the world and
recorded three CDs. His keyboard skills include
the organ, piano and harpsichord. Kim holds a B.M.
degree in organ performance from Westminster
Choir College, Princeton, NJ and an M.M. in
harpsichord performance from New England
Conservatory, Boston, MA. Bruce Sylvester - Superintendent of
Building and Grounds Bruce oversees the care and maintenance of the church
and grounds, and supervises our custodial staff. Bruce is also
our in-house computer support specialist, and manages the
operation and maintenance of our data processing systems. Sandy Jones-Croxton - Administrative Assistant Sandy directs the activities of Mt. Washington’s
multi-talented office staff. She is also personal
secretary to our Head of Staff. Sandy is one of
our congregation’s longest-standing and most
active members, serving on many important
boards and committees. Margaret Sanders - Financial Secretary Margaret is responsible for accounting.
She also manages critical operations
including member contributions,
and prepares monthly statements for
various church boards and committees. Pat Busher – Wedding Secretary Pat is the first voice you’ll hear when
you call the church. She participates in
the preparation of printed materials,
and coordinates weddings. Jean Jordan – Membership Secretary Jean assists in the preparation and publication
of The Beacon, bulletins and other printed materials
we use in worship and other communications. She is
the focal point for membership information and activities,
